Introduction

                           

NIC District Centre , Umaria was established in the year 2000 with an objective  to promote IT culture in the State and Central Government Offices. Since its inception NIC District Centre Umaria  has been engaged in helping the District Administration and various other offices in their computerisation needs. Initially two rooms were given for the centre. Two more rooms were provided to establish Video Conferencing facilities in September 2004.

                                                                    Infrastructure

                 

: NIC centre has a SkyBlaster VSAT installed and  Windows 2000 server  with  one Client, Windows 2003 server, D-pc m/c, Lynix m/c are connected to it. The Server, the clients and the VSAT are in a LAN enabling web/internet access to the Server and the clients through the VSAT.

The centre has also been provided with a RASFinder which is also in network with the VSAT enabling web/internet/email  access on dial-up. Internet Email access   to various Govt. Offices  is being provided by the centre using Dial-up Connectivity.

Projects

 

Election MIS : Election MIS implemented successfuly in major elections Loksabha, Vidhansabha & also local elections Nagar Palika, Panchayats. All the activities have done computerized; data entry/modification of government employees, formation of polling parties, randomization of polling parties, polling orders of polling team, randomization of EVM (Ballot Unit & Control Unit separately). 

Expenditure Monitoring System(EMS:CNM) : EMS was designed, developed and implemented of an efficient computerised system for monitoring the monthly expenditure against the budget alloted in various Deptt.

AGMARKNET project implemented & A workshop was conducted on 23 August 2004 on Agmarknet Project at Collectorate Meeting Hall, Umaria. To awareness of Agriculture Market on Internet, Approx 100 persons have attended the workshop included formers, local leaders, citizens, agriculture businessmen, officers & staff. Given details of purpose & online demonstration of agmarknet website (http://agmarknet.nic.in). It was grand successful workshop in District about agriculture on Internet. This workshop have appreciated by the media i.e. Siticable, Newspapers & also all attended.

The other major projects implemented are 11 Point Programme for Basic Amenities of the State Government,  ICDS MPR for WCD, CNAA for CMHO ,Time Limit Papers Monitoring, PRI Accounts for Blocks(Zila Panchayat),   All India school education Survey, BPL survey , Minor Irrigation Census, PHEMIS for PHE deptt. etc.

A Video Conferencing Centre of NIC has been established  in all about  districts in MP .The VC facility is operational at all the district of Umaria.Most of the government departments are reviewing their schemes on weekly basis  using VC facility  .
